Addiction Struggles

Addiction is such a struggle bus sometimes. I've overcome so many types of addiction and found that food is my kryptonite. I struggle hard to eat the right foods and feel emotionally satisfied. I use food as a way to deal with all types of emotions. I've been trying to lose weight; however, it's not easy with a food addiction.
The types of comfort food I choose to eat when emotional eating may offer the least amount of positive impact on my mental health. A healthy diet can help develop a healthy gut. Microbes found in the gut produce serotonin and dopamine (neurotransmitters), which regulate our mood and emotions. The microbiome in our gut has been implicated in mental health outcomes.
Eating healthy food such as nuts, beans, vegetables, whole wheat bread, and so on doesn't seem as tasty as the alternatives.
I will continue down this journey and pray I lose some of the weight and gain more positive mental health.
